A shooter with a “submachine gun” has left eight people dead and up to 60 wounded at a FedEx facility in Indiana, the Sun reported.
Indianapolis police spokesperson Genae Cook said cops found “multiple people with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds” at the scene.
The gunman shot and killed himself, Cook told reporters at a briefing this morning.
According to the Source, Cops were called to an “active shooter incident” at 11 pm last night after reports of shots being fired at the FedEx facility on Mirabel Road in Indianapolis.
“After a preliminary search we have located eight people at the scene with injuries with gunshot wounds,” Cook said.
“Those eight were pronounced deceased at the scene.”
She added: “Today it is very heartbreaking and, you know, in the Annapolis Metro Police Department, the officers responded, they came in, they went in and they did their job.
“And a lot of them are trying to face this because this is a sight that no one should ever have to see.”
At least four people were rushed to hospital – including one person with critical injuries, Cook said.
No officers were injured in the shooting, she confirmed.
