U.S-Protesters Overthrow Christopher Columbus Statue, Throw It Into Lake

A Christopher Columbus statue has been torn down, set on flame and thrown in a lake by demonstrators in Virginia on Tuesday. The statue was overthrown less than two hours after demonstrators rallied in Richmond’s Byrd Park and chanted for the statue to go.
The demonstrators walked to the Robert E. Lee Monument before various groups of rioters returned and vandalized the statue before pulling it down with a rope and pushing it into the lake.

On its part, the police are investigating the incident as the as a movement to remove statues commemorating slavers and colonizers continues to sweep across the world.
