UK finds 12,133 Omicron infections as cases drop

United Kingdom’s Health Security Agency reported on Sunday the country identified 12,133 COVID-19 cases caused by the Omicron variant in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 37,101. Health Secretary Sajid Javid warned the actual number of infections could be at least four or five times higher.

Overall cases fell from the record high on Friday, but the UK still saw its fourth-highest daily case total since the start of the pandemic at 82,886.
