UK penalizes top Russian oligarchs up to £10B

The United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office announced on Thursday that it had sanctioned Eugene Tenenbaum and David Davidovich with sanctions worth up to £10 billion.

Since February, these new sanctions bring the total number of oligarchs, family members, and associates sanctioned to 106. The sanctions will also prevent their assets from being repatriated to Russia and used to finance “Putin’s war machine.” Additionally, a travel ban has been imposed on Davidovich.

“We are tightening the ratchet on Putin’s war machine and targeting the circle of people closest to the Kremlin. We will keep going with sanctions until Putin fails in Ukraine. Nothing and no one is off the table,” said Liz Truss, Foreign Secretary.
