United Kingdom Transport Secretary Grant Shapps presented on Friday new laws concerning the coronavirus and travelling. He stated that the changes would take place from the “next week,” and passengers will be asked to present a negative Covid-19 test result 72 hours prior to departure for entry into the UK, along with a “passenger locator form.”
“There is still a quarantine if you come from somewhere that isn’t on the international corridor. We are doing this now because we are very keen to be safe from, for example, South African variants. There are concerns about the South African variant and how effective the vaccine, in this case, might be. In terms of response to coronavirus it is important to ensure that people quarantine or self-isolate and we have been doing this for months since June,” he stated.
