United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on Saturday for changes to the existing global financial system, warning of “instability, crisis and forced migration” if the current worldwide economic inequalities persist.
“The divergence between developed and developing countries threatens to become systemic – a recipe for instability, crisis and forced migration. We need a reform of the global financial system – inclusive, transparent and consultative – to create an architecture that delivers for all,” Guterres said.
