UN-Habitat in Tunisia signs Memorandum of Understanding with Municipality of Tunis and presents its ‘Karamti’ project.

UN-Habitat in Tunisia signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the Municipality of Tunis, and presents its Karamti Project, on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 12h, at the Municipality of Tunis. “Karamti” (my dignity) aims to develop healthy, qualitative public spaces adapted to girls, women, and children in the informal district of Hay Hlel.

This project is based on a participatory process to identify the reality of local needs and design adapted solutions taking into account local priorities for sustainable development and urban resilience building.

 

The objectives of this meeting are to:

-Sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Municipality of Tunis.

-Present the general objectives of the Karamti project.

 

The event will bring together representatives of the municipality and governorate of Tunis, various urban planning departments of the city of Tunis, UN agencies as well as project partners.

 

As part of its urban inclusion policy, UN-Habitat Tunisia pays particular attention to leaving no one behind, especially homeless people and migrants, who are real actors of change and cohesion within their communities.
