UN on Nuseirat raid: Collective agony can, must end now

United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths strongly condemned the recent Israeli military operation in Nuseirat in central Gaza, describing the situation as increasingly horrific.

In a poignant statement, Griffiths stressed the disastrous impact on civilians and, the healthcare system, with hospitals struggling to care for the injured amidst the ongoing conflict.

“Seeing shrouded bodies on the ground, we are reminded that nowhere is safe in Gaza. Seeing bloodied patients being treated on hospital floors, we are reminded that health care in Gaza is hanging by a thread […] This collective agony can and must end now,” Griffiths asserted, urging an end to the hostilities, the release of all 120 hostages still captive and a return to peace.
