The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Wednesday adopted a resolution demanding that Israel ends its “unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory,” including its airspace, within 12 months.
The resolution also calls on states “to take steps towards ceasing the importation of any products originating in the Israeli settlements, as well as the provision or transfer of arms, munitions and related equipment to Israel, the occupying Power, in all cases where there are reasonable grounds to suspect that they may be used in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.”
The General Assembly resolution was adopted with 124 votes in favor, 43 abstentions, and 14 votes against, including those of Israel and the United States.
