United Kingdom sends third warship to Red Sea

The British Ministry of Defence declared on Monday the deployment of HMS Richmond (F-239), the third vessel dispatched to the Middle East as a component of Operation Prosperity Guardian, to strengthen the United Kingdom’s naval influence in the Gulf region.

“We are working with allies and partners to protect freedom of navigation and remain committed to holding malign actors accountable for unlawful seizures and attacks. The Houthis will bear the responsibility of the consequences should they continue to threaten lives and commercial shipping in these critical waterways,” British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps’ statement reads.
