The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Monday approved the resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and a hostage deal drafted by the US and based on the ceasefire proposal presented earlier by US President Joe Biden.

The resolution was adopted with 14 votes in favour, and one abstention came from Russia.
