The United State’s House of Representatives has voted in favour of a resolution calling on Vice President Mike Pence to remove President Trump through the 25th Amendment, 223-205.
Pence has previously said he does not intend to use the 25th Amendment, and the House cannot force him to act. That means that the House is expected to focus on the article of impeachment introduced this week.
The article of impeachment is expected to pass in the Democratic-controlled House, which would make Trump the first president in U.S. history to be impeached twice.
“The facts are very clear: The president called for this seditious attack,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on the House floor ahead of the vote.
