US: Iran asked us to help over helicopter crash

United States State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller mentioned on Monday during a press briefing that Tehran asked Washington for assistance over the helicopter crash that resulted in the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the country’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

“We did make clear to them that we would offer assistance, as we would do in response to any request by a foreign government in this sort of situation. And ultimately, we were not able to provide that assistance,” he stated adding that this happened due to “logistical reasons.”
