A United States drone strike carried out in Syria killed a senior al-Qaeda leader, Fox News reported. Anonymous US defense officials confirmed Salim Abu-Ahmad was killed in an attack carried out on September 20 near Idlib.
The officials also said there were no civilian casualties. Abu-Ahmad was “responsible for planning, funding, and approving trans-regional al Qaeda attacks,” according to the report.
