Norwegian Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) said that a United States military aircraft, which went missing in the Nordland county, was spotted south of Bodo.
According to JRCC the plane with a crew of four was on a training mission and was supposed to land at 6:00 pm CET on Friday. At 6:18 pm CET, the aircraft was reported missing and three hours later, the rescue team’s helicopter was able to locate it in Beiarn, Nordland county.
Due to the challenging weather conditions, the rescue team was having difficulties approaching the area from the air and decided to try to reach the crash site on foot and using snowmobiles. The state of the four crew members, who were in the missing plane, has still not been confirmed.
