The Biden administration is considering an arms sale to Israel worth over $1 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported. The deal would include tank ammunition, military vehicles and mortar rounds, according to US officials familiar with the matter.
The sale would require approval from Congress and the equipment could take “months or years” to be delivered, according to the report. The US has insisted arms deals with Israel serve to bolster the country’s defensive capabilities. Another bill already making its way through Congress would allocate $4 billion to supporting Israel’s military and US operations in the MIddle East.
