US, S. Arabia to sign civil nuclear program deal

United States Energy Secretary Chris Wright said on Sunday that the US and Saudi Arabia will sign a preliminary agreement on developing the kingdom’s civil nuclear program.

After a meeting with Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Wright stated that Washington and Riyadh plan to work together on the Saudi civil nuclear industry but noted more details will be announced later this year.

“There’s lots of ways to structure a deal that will accomplish both the Saudi objectives and the American objectives,” he noted.
