Vatican says Pope Francis’ funeral set for Saturday

The Vatican announced on Tuesday that Pope Francis’s funeral will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 10:00 am local time in St. Peter’s Basilica.

The announcement comes hours after the Vatican released the first official images of the pope in an open coffin. Cardinal Camerlengo Kevin Farrell presided over the rite of the ascertainment of death and the placement of Pope Francis’ body in the coffin.
