Violence in Ecuador grows with police officers kidnaped

Ecuadorian police said on Tuesday in a statement that four of its officers had been kidnaped after the country’s government declared a state of emergency following news that an “extremely dangerous” druglord escaped from prison.

The police further shared on X that there was an attack on the country’s TV station TC, and that the special units have been dispatched to the scene. Earlier, an explosion that took place in the vicinity of the National Justice Court president’s house was also reported.

The country has been in disarray ever since it was shared that Adolfo Macias, the druglord in question, was missing from his cell.
