WHO: Vaccine mandates should be a last resort

World Health Organization’s (WHO) Special Envoy on COVID-19 David Nabarro said on Monday that he sees mandatory vaccination as a “last resort.” His remarks follow Austria’s decision to enforce immunization from February, with other European countries considering similar measures.

“If it’s at all possible to avoid having to require people to be vaccinated, otherwise they get some kind of penalty, I’d really prefer that. If, on the other hand, there’s absolute refusal, then I quite understand governments looking at the possibility of mandating,” Nabarro told Sky News.
