Lakeland Police Department confirmed that 10 victims are being treated following a shooting that took place near the city’s Iowa Avenue North and Plum Street, according to ABC News.
Although eight people reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries, two remain in critical condition. “One is in surgery and the other is either in surgery or headed to surgery,” Lakeland Police Chief Sam Taylor said at a press conference after the incident.
It is believed that four alleged gunmen fired weapons on both sides of the street from a four-door Nissan. According to police, the victims were targeted and the shooting was not random.
