2020 U.S election-Early vote surpasses 100 million, doubling 2016 total

Around 100.7 million early or absentee votes have been cast during the 2020 elections, multiplying the total number of votes in 2016, the NBC News Decision Desk/TargetSmart reported on Tuesday.

That indicates 75% of the total amount of about 136.5 million overall votes cast in 2016.

The agency noted the figure was profoundly swayed by health concerns that have arisen due to the coronavirus pandemic.
