Member of the tomato federation, Adel Antit, confirmed this Thursday that the last increase in tomato prices concentrated in cane, which entered into force yesterday, is abusive and illegal.
He clarified that it was taken unilaterally by manufacturers, and has no mainspring, since the tomato cans sold at the moment, concern the 2022 harvest. The harvest was exceptional, And the producer has not increased the sale price of fresh tomatoes.
He added that the Ministry of Commerce assured that it was not aware of this increase.
