Two heavy charges were brought by the judge: conspiracy to undermine internal security and change the form of government plus inciting individuals to arm themselves against each other, based on articles 68 and 72 of the Penal Code. The suspects were directed to the Indictment Chamber at the Court of Appeal of Tunis, reported this Wednesday, June 5, by the spokesperson for the Court of First Instance of Tunis, Mohamed Zitouna, to the press.
The same source recollects that the facts date from Ramadan 2023, they were made public by the recording of a “secret” meeting between some of those implicated, an audio which had leaked on social networks. According to Mr. Zitouna, it was perceived as a call to disobedience. The recording had been distributed, again according to him, on numerous pages for collusion against state structures.
Furthermore, the spokesperson for the Court announced that the searches carried out at Ghannouchi and elsewhere made it possible to get hold of overwhelming proof which establishes that all these beautiful people were involved in this disastrous project. He talked of plans to attack public bodies, to form groups and set up secret agencies to hit the State in the heart…
He also cited financial resources to carry out these crimes against the nation and the use of social networks to spread a string of rumors and false information to turn the population against the authorities, inciting citizens to disobedience and sowing discord between the people and state structures.
