Ben Gardane Hospital observed tension and chaos after the body of citizen called Bachir Toumi decayed in the Dead Body Freezer due a malfunction, His brother Mohamed Toumi told Tunisie Numérique. His body was kept while awaiting result since his death was sudden.
Mr Toumi said his brother had a heart attack and was transported to the emergency where he died, they couldn’t receive his body as they were told that an analysis must be conducted as a preventive measure for COVID-19, the family didn’t object as . The result came out negative at 10:00 pm of that night.
They headed to receive the body of his brother after completing all the necessary procedures only to be surprised that the body has decayed with a bad smell after staying three days in a broken Dead Body Freezer.
Toumi refused to receive his brother body and requested to talk to a responsible from the health ministry about the negligence that happened, adding that he will sue the hospital.
Tunisie Numérique contacted the hospital director who denied the existence of a decayed body without giving further details.
