Similar to various governorates such as Gafsa, Sfax, Kasserine and Siliana, the governorate of Tozeur announced a general strike on January 28th.
This is what the UGTT of Tozeur resolved, which published a general regional strike notice, calling for a fundamental resolution to the land problem in the region and the founding of a clear strategy to develop the dates sector in the area.
The UGTT additionally calls for a rescue plan for higher education establishments, tourist establishments and for the preparation of essential sanitation facilities and the creation of jobs for young people.
