UGTT member Samir Cheffi said having a woman prime minister is in itself a positive thing and a powerful message that shows that Tunisian women can reach decision-making positions. Nevertheless, it remains critical that the new head of government is competent and that she has a vision and an economic and social program to find solutions to thorny issues, said the trade unionist.
It is in the light of this program that the UGTT will decide its position, he added.
