Tunisia-HAICA transfers Hannibal TV’s file to the prosecution

The High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA) transferred Hannibal’s TV file to the prosecution.

The file contains suspicions regarding money laundering operations. The HAICA said the channel financial statements are not transparent enough.

The HAICA stated, in a press release, that it could not identify the origins of the funds released in the channel and the required justifications for financial operations with a Turkish company, holding majority shares with Hannibal TV.

It also said that the heads of Hannibal TV did not comply with the specifications and broke the law, recollecting that it had already seized the equipment, before granting him a period to regularize the situation.

“Hannibal directors have not kept their promises, particularly with regard to financial transparency. The delay given to the channel having reached its term on June 30, and after multiple reminders, Haica has not found any other solution than to transmit its file to justice, “added the authority.

HAICA called on the prosecution to speed up the investigation of this file and its transmission to the financial pole as soon as possible.
