Former AC/DC bassist Paul Matters has passed away.
His friend Rod Wescombe published Matters’ passing on Facebook, writing that he was “shocked and saddened” by the news.
Matters joined the band in 1975, after the recording of their album High Voltage. Nevertheless, he was ousted by Bon Scott just weeks later, being replaced by Mark Evans.
“I first met Paul in 1973 when he was playing bass in ‘Armageddon’ at a gig in Hamilton, Newcastle N.S.W.,” Wescombe wrote.
