Algeria has firmly rejected the plans being circulated to displace and empty Gaza of its original residents as part of a broader scheme aimed at undermining the Palestinian national project.
According to a statement issued by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, Algeria voiced its hope that international efforts would continue to support the second stage of negotiations aimed at securing a ceasefire in Gaza, specifically addressing the aftermath of the war.
Algeria reiterated its strong belief that achieving sustainable peace in the Middle East is closely related to ensuring Palestinian rights and enabling the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in line with the internationally agreed “two-state solution” as a fair, permanent, and final resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The statement also stressed the necessity of unifying Palestinian territories from Gaza to the West Bank and Jerusalem, aiming to achieve the Palestinian national project. It underscored that any attempts to undermine, fragment, or eliminate this project would only prolong the conflict, deepen Palestinian suffering, and exacerbate insecurity and instability throughout the region.
