[Audio]- Palestine struggle amid Coronavirus spread

As the coronavirus is expanding throughout the globe and claiming lives, countries are struggling to contain the virus.

Palestine has been attempting to impose various measures to fight the virus with sanitation operations undergoing in every corner of the country.

President Mahmoud Abbas on his part declared a state of emergency March 5 to counter the coronavirus, known as COVID-19.

A private source informed Tunisie Numérqiue that initial contamination came from Korean Tourists whose the course of their trips originally begun from Egypt then landed in Ben Gurion Airport, later they travelled to Bethlehem and other resgions.

Palestine has recorded 38 infections, our speaker said , stressing that the infected are quarantined in Bethlehem except for one case whose currently in Tulkarm.

The COVID-19 caused a complete shutdown in educational institutions in the exclusion of the private sector which is partially working.

The health sector in Palestine does not have the needed capacity to control the spread of the virus, added our source. The country is also experiencing an economic recession which is affecting them heavily.

Palestinians are also purchasing extra provisions and leaving their houses only when needed, our speaker pointed out

On another notice, The Palestinian Authority suspended prayers in mosques and churches in the occupied West Bank on Saturday to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. The Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque and Dome of the Rock will shut their doors as a precaution against coronavirus.

The country is trying its best under occupation to survive the outbreak as  factories are racing time to provide the market with medical equipment.
