United States President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 campaign team stated on their behalf in response to former head of state Donald Trump being found guilty on 34 counts of first-degree falsifying business records, saying that the decision showed that “no one is above the law.”
“Donald Trump has always mistakenly believed he would never face consequences for breaking the law for his personal gain,” the campaign’s Communications Director Michael Tyler wrote.
Still, the statement also noted that “[t]he threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater,” which is why “[t]here is still only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: at the ballot box.”
