Biden: We accomplished significant business with Saudis

Following his meetings with Saudi Arabian crown prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud (MBS) and other government leaders, United States President Joe Biden emphasised that his administration “accomplished some significant business.” Biden confirmed that Saudi Arabia would open its airspace for all civilian flights, including to and from Israel. Saudi Arabia opening its airspace is a big deal, he argued.

The US president likewise announced that Riyadh would partner with Washington on pushing the clean energy initiative, adding he had a good discussion with MBS on ensuring global energy security. “I’m doing all I can to increase oil supply for the US,” Biden asserted, noting we can expect further steps regarding global oil supply in the coming weeks. Commenting on the US position in the Middle East, Biden stated that his administration won’t “leave a vacuum” in the region for Russia or China to fill.
