An external source is thought to have provoked the blast of an oil tanker in the Saudi Arabian port of Jeddah, BW Group, which controls the ship, said on Monday.
There were no damages when the tanker, called BW Rhine, burst into flames notwithstanding the fact that 22 sailors were on board when the explosion took place, the company added.
Saudi Arabia is yet to issue a comment on the incident.
