Borrell: Moscow’s ceasefire ‘not credible’

European Union High Representative for Foreign Policy Josep Borrell reacted on Friday to the Kremlin’s two-day ceasefire during Orthodox Christmas by calling it “not credible.”

“The Kremlin totally lacks credibility and this declaration of a unilateral ceasefire is not credible,” Borrell said and added that “it was Russia that launched this illegitimate aggression. When the aggressor talks of a ceasefire, I think the response that comes to us all is skepticism in the face of such hypocrisy.”

Borrell went on to say that Russia should withdraw its troops from Ukrainian territory.
