Car drives into crowd in Berlin, leaves one dead

German Police confirmed on Wednesday that one person was found dead and eight were injured after a car drove into a crowd of pedestrians in Berlin this morning.

The incident occurred in the Charlottenburg district, near Breitscheidplatz, when a silver-colored Renault broke through the window of a drugstore, leaving the vehicle partially on the sidewalk and partly inside the shop. The police spokesman reported that the driver of the vehicle has been detained, while the investigation will determine whether the incident was deliberate or accidental.
