Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at the Yale CEO Summit, urged on Wednesday the United States corporate leaders to leave Russia and move their businesses to Ukraine so as to help the latter’s economy.
“This would be a powerful sign of support,” Zelensky underscored, further asking the US companies to refrain from paying taxes to Russia “because this money is used to finance Russia’s war machine.”
Zelensky reiterated that Moscow “has violated international laws and our sovereignty” and that it does not “abide by laws of businesses.” The head of Ukraine warned that this type of behavior means that Russia will “dictate their own terms” to others as well.
