The Palestinian Council of Ministers reported this Thursday that, under the directives of President Mahmoud Abbas, and after consultation with Christian churches, it was decided to restrict Christmas festivities this year to religious rituals.
“Christmas this year would be restricted to religious rituals, during which prayers would be offered for the souls of the martyrs and during which national celebrations in the face of what our people are exposed to because of a war of genocide from which they have never witnessed.
The story is unprecedented since the Second World War” as reported by the official press agency.
