Former United States Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Colin Powell has passed away “due to complications from” COVID-19, his family wrote in a post on the late politician’s official Facebook page. According to the writing, Powell “was fully vaccinated.”
Powell, who was in office from 2001 to 2005, was the country’s first African-American secretary of state. He was 84.
