Contact between an An-26 aircraft and ground control has been lost, TASS reported on Tuesday, citing a source within the Kamchatka branch of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters.
The plane has 23 passengers aboard, along with six crew members, the report explained.
“The An-26 plane has stopped responding. We are looking for details,” the outlet cited the statement it received, adding that, according to “preliminary information,” the aircraft could have “crashed and fell into the sea.”
