Egypt denies Biden’s claims that Al -Sisi blocked aid from reaching Gaza

The Egyptian presidency said on Friday that Israel’s shelling on Rafah blocked the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, stressing that Egypt and the United States are standing shoulder to shoulder in the pursuit of a lasting peace in Gaza.

“From the first moment, Egypt has opened the Rafah border crossing from its side without any restrictions or conditions and has mobilized massive humanitarian aid and relief, flowing from both Egypt and countries worldwide that delivered aid directly to Al Arish Airport,” the presidency noted in a statement, adding that after Israel stopped bombings, Egypt repaired the crossing to allow the flow of aid.
