Exclusive: Tunisia- IMF: rendez-vous in January 2023

Postponed? Cancelled? In any case, the meeting of the board of directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) dedicated to Tunisia and initially planned for Monday, December 19, 2022, will not take place!

To look for the reasons for this adjournment, according to a government source, the IMF’s decision seeks to give Tunisian authorities enough time to finish the requirements of the reform program they have presented.

Our source adds that a new date will be agreed upon. And this, after consultation between the IMF and the Tunisian authorities.

What about the date? Nothing has yet been set. But, we are made to understand that it will not be able to delay, so in the coming days!

Concordant sources specify that the Tunisian authorities plan to represent the file again as soon as the Board of the Monetary Fund is resumed, namely after the end-of-year vacation, in January 2023.
