Chief health advisor Jean-François Delfraissy said on Monday that the virus situation in France has “got out of control,” alleging that the nation is seeing around 100,000 new COVID-19 cases every day.
Nevertheless, the official data suggests significantly lower figures. France’s number of COVID-19 infections rose by 52,010 in the past 24 hours, marking the highest daily figure since the beginning of the pandemic.
Commenting on the statistics, Delfraissy explained that the underlying spread of the coronavirus is probably much higher than the data shows.
