“Gaza is being strangled and it seems the world has lost its humanity,” announces UNRWA

The spectre of death hangs over Gaza. Without water, electricity, food and medicine, thousands of people will die,” UN humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths reported on his X account on Sunday.

For its part, the United Nations agency responsible for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, revealed that a million people were displaced during the first seven days.

The Commissioner General of the UN agency, Philippe Lazzarini, sounded the alarm on the situation in Gaza. “A river of people continues to flow south. No place is safe in Gaza…Gaza lacks water and electricity,” he said. “In fact, Gaza is being strangled and it seems that the world has lost its humanity.”
