Germany extends lockdown

Germany will lengthen the lockdown directed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus till March 7,  Chancellor Angela Merkel revealed on Wednesday.

During a press conference after the meeting with heads of the state governments, Merkel affirmed that the current containment measures, programmed to remain in effect until the middle of February are not sufficient to get the curb of the virus under control.
