Germany’s Saxony to start strict lockdown

The German state of Saxony will begin a severe lockdown as of December 14, state authorities announced on Tuesday. It is planned for the lockdown to last until January 10.

According to the new rules, fundamental businesses, such as grocery stores, pharmacies, post offices and hairdressers will be allowed to remain open while schools, kindergartens, shopping centres and all non-essential retail stores will be shut down.
