Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg has been detained at the protest at the now-uninhabited village of Luetzerath, the local police announced on Tuesday.
The spokesperson for the police in Aachen stated that Thunberg and a group of others were detained and removed from the site but added they will likely be freed later in the day. “There is no reason to hold them for days. It might take hours or they will go immediately,” they said. Thunberg was already detained once during the protest that began earlier this month.
