Guterres: ICJ order is ‘binding’

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres said in a statement on Friday that the latest International Court of Justice (ICJ) order given to Israel in relation to its military operations in Rafah is “binding.”

“Pursuant to the Charter and to the State of the Court, decisions of the court are binding,” he remarked, adding that he trusts “the parties will duly comply with the Order from the Court.”

In the meantime, Israel’s reactions to the decision were unwelcoming, as country representatives called the ruling “irrelevant,” adding that their offensive in the Gaza Strip will continue.
