A 5.2-Richter earthquake hit southwestern Iran on Sunday morning, the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University announced.
The epicenter of the tremor was in the southwest of the country, 50.65 degrees longitude and 30.36 degrees latitude. The closest town to the epicenter is Dogonbadan, which has around 100,000 inhabitants and is a major oil industry center as the region produces some 25% of Iran’s oil exports
