Japan earthquake: 90-year-old woman pulled from rubble after five days

Rescue teams in Japan performed a remarkable feat by pulling a woman, about 90 years old, alive from the rubble of a collapsed house on Saturday. This incredible rescue happened 124 hours after a powerful 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck the country’s west, claiming at least 126 lives and causing widespread destruction.

The earthquake, the strongest since the 2016 Kumamoto quakes that took 276 lives, left many buildings in ruins and ruined critical infrastructure. Amid the tragedy, the successful rescue of the elderly woman offers a glimmer of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
